At TechnoMap, I rely on a lot of tools to run my business, but when it comes to planning and managing my video content, nothing beats Coda.
I built a video planning system that keeps me organized, lets me visualize my content in multiple ways, and makes it easy to update as I go. Whether I’m scripting a TikTok or scheduling a YouTube short, it’s all managed in one place.
Here’s a quick walkthrough of how it works and why I love it.

My Master Table: The Backbone of It All
Everything starts with a master table in Coda.
Each row is a video idea, and each one is tagged with:
- A title
- Status (Idea, Script Ready, Ready to Film, Edited, Posted)
- Planned publish date
- Series/Category
- Notes, links, or anything else I need
If I open a row, I can dive deeper, including writing the full script right inside the doc. This keeps my ideas, prep, and execution all in one place.
Multiple Views to Match My Workflow
The beauty of Coda is that you can display the same table in different filtered views. I set up subpages to show my video plan from different angles:
1. Videos by Status
I can filter my table to show only videos:
- Script Writing
- Script Ready to film
- Filmed, Ready to edit
- Fully published
This helps me know exactly where to focus next.
2. Calendar View
I can drag and drop videos into a calendar, and it automatically updates the planned publish date.
This makes it easy to plan ahead, shift content around, and avoid overlapping themes or gaps.
3. Videos by Series or Category
I use this to group videos by topic, like:
- CRM Tips
- Zoho App Overviews
- Behind-the-Scenes
- Fun & Personal Series
It’s great when I want to focus on building out a specific series or review past content in one theme.
Why I Love Using Coda for This
- I can write and manage my scripts in the same place I track progress
- I can view and filter my content plan in any way that matches my brain
- It helps me stay ahead of schedule and avoid the “what should I post this week?” panic
- It scales easily as I add new series, channels, or goals
Coda is more than just a document tool! It’s flexible enough to act like a lightweight content management system, and intuitive enough to use every day.
Bottom Line
If you’re creating content regularly, especially video content, and you want a better way to organize, plan, and execute, I can’t recommend Coda enough.
Want help building a similar system for your team? I’d love to set one up for you.
