Zia Saved My Sprint from Total Chaos
- Guesstimate some story points
- Toss in a few bonus items
- Hope we had the capacity to finish it all
What Zia Does in Zoho Sprints
- ✅ Your team’s past sprint velocity
- ✅ Average story points completed per sprint
- ✅ Capacity trends over time
What Happened During My Sprint Planning
Zia popped up with:“Based on past sprints, you’re overloading by ~40%. Want to scale back?”
- Our past average velocity
- What we completed vs committed
- And a suggested target point range for the new sprint
How to Use Zia for Smarter Sprint Planning
Zia’s recommendations show up automatically when you’re inside Zoho Sprints. Here’s how to use them:
Step 1: Go to Your Sprint Planning Board
- In Zoho Sprints, open your backlog
- Start dragging stories/tasks into the new sprint
Step 2: Watch for the Zia Panel
As you plan, Zia will pop up (or show in the sidebar) with a message like:
“Based on your last 3 sprints, your team completes ~70 story points. Current total: 92 points.”
She’ll then suggest a target range (e.g. 65–75 points) to stay on track.
Step 3: Adjust Based on Real Data
You can:
- Remove or delay lower-priority tasks
- Adjust estimates
- Or keep the full sprint if you want (you’re still in charge)
But now, you’re making those choices with data from your own history, not a best guess.
Why This Made a Huge Difference
- We constantly overbooked
- Mid-sprint pivots were the norm
- Deadlines slipped, and team morale dropped
- We commit to what we can actually finish
- Everyone feels less overwhelmed
- And we actually complete what we plan
TL;DR: Sprint Planning Doesn’t Have to Be Chaos
- ✅ Zia will show you what your team can actually handle
- ✅ Suggest sprint capacity based on past performance
- ✅ Help you avoid burnout and missed goals
- ✅ Make agile feel… well, agile
