Build a Lead Magnet Landing Page in Zoho Marketing Automation

If your lead magnet delivery process involves “DM me and I’ll send it”… you’re doing manual labor for free.

The whole point of a lead magnet is to trade a useful freebie for an email address, then follow up automatically. Zoho Marketing Automation can do this cleanly with one simple pipeline:

Landing page → Form submission → List membership → Nurture journey → Delivery email

Here’s the exact setup.

What we are building

A simple lead magnet landing page that:

  • Captures name and email
  • Adds the contact to a dedicated list
  • Optionally tags them for segmentation
  • Shows a thank-you confirmation
  • Delivers the download either on the thank-you page or via an immediate email
  • Can be published fast on a Zoho hosted URL, with custom domain later

Demo 1: Create the landing page

  1. Open Zoho Marketing Automation
  2. Go to Lead Generation then Landing Pages
  3. Click Create Landing Page
  4. Choose a simple Lead Gen template or start blank

Landing page rule: one action only
Your goal is one action: enter email, get the freebie.

Do not add extra navigation, side links, or “learn more” rabbit holes. If you want them to browse your site, that can happen after the opt-in.

Demo 2: Add the form and connect it to a list

1. Add a signup form block to the page
2. Keep the form fields minimal:
  •  Name
  •  Email

Then configure the form submit action:

On submit: Add to List
Create a list like:

Lead Magnet – Starter Kit
(or whatever your lead magnet name is)

This list becomes the trigger for your nurture journey later.

Optional but smart: apply a tag for segmentation
Add a tag like:

LeadMagnet: Starter Kit
Why tag if you already have a list

Because tags make it easier to segment across multiple magnets later without juggling a dozen lists.

Demo 3: Set the thank-you and deliver the lead magnet

In the configuration step, set what happens right after form submission.

Thank-you options

You have two clean options.

Option A: Put the download link on the thank-you page

Best when:

  • The lead magnet is not sensitive
  • You want instant gratification
  • You do not care about tracking who downloaded

Option B: Send an immediate delivery email from your nurture flow

This is usually the better setup.

Why it is better:

  • You can track opens and clicks
  • You train them to expect emails from you
  • You can resend if they did not open
  • You keep the download link out of public view

If you go with Option B, your first nurture email should be:

Subject: Here is your download

Body: Short intro, one clear download button, and a next step CTA

Demo 4: Publish now on Zoho, custom domain later

Click Publish Now.

If you are moving fast, publish using a Zoho hosted URL first. That gets you live and collecting leads today.

If you want the landing page on your own domain later, set up a custom domain publish option, which typically involves DNS changes like CNAME mapping depending on your setup.

Suggested page structure for a high-converting lead magnet page

Keep it simple and scannable:

  • Headline: what the freebie does
  • 2 to 4 bullet points: what is inside
  • One small credibility line: who it is for
  • Email form
  • Tiny privacy line: no spam, unsubscribe anytime

That is enough.

The Short Version

That is it: landing page plus list plus instant follow-up.

Once this is live, you stop manually sending freebies and start building an actual automated lead engine:

  • Visitors opt in
  • They get the resource
  • They enter your nurture journey automatically
